Florida Authors – Location is everything for these Dandelion authors

Dandelion’s Florida Authors of contemporary fiction are unmistakably regional. Each of these writers would agree that the notorious Floridian flora and fauna lend themselves to colorful often outrageous novels.

Based on a true story, Adventure Capital by John Rushing, could not have happened anywhere else except in South Florida:

“Engineer and entrepreneur Mark Hansen is determined to carve out his destiny as the manufacturer of an innovative locator device for finding people lost at sea.

Mark soon discovers that venture capital has hazards never mentioned in textbooks, and as the plot thickens, he gets locked in a struggle to save not only his company but his life.”

After a jealous business competitor fired six 9mm hollow point bullets into his office, author John Rushing knew that he had a lot to say about the adventure of being an entrepreneur in Fort Lauderdale.

Adler - Daniels woman with qualities

The same can be said for Sarah Daniels’ two Florida novels juxtapose the psychedelic “shiny sheet” glitz of Palm Beach "The Island" against its poor excuse for a city by the same name with a West tacked in front--separated only by a Causeway.

The two in tandem create a unique setting for Daniels’ novel, The Woman With Qualities.

Daniels expertly levels the playing field between West Palm Beach’s whorehouses and drug dens and the basement mansions of the rich and famous.

Although Come As You Are, Daniels’ second Floridian novel, may be lighter in tone than The Woman with Qualities, the setting is still distinctly Floridian.

Only in the East Coast Sunbelt would one find Ralph Leavitt, a man of indeterminate age well past his prime.

His self-described entrepreneurial skills are questionable, and his personal appearance is anything but appealing.

CoCo Bernstein tells herself he's crude and coarse, a cheap and unappealing penny pincher.

And yet, from their first meeting, CoCo is inexplicably drawn to him sexually. Ralph tells her she's a goddess, and treats her like a ravishingly beautiful, desirable woman.

His sex drive knows no bounds, and his skills as a lover open CoCo up to a whole new world of pissibilities. Despite his senior citizen status, let's face it, Ralph is a sexual dynamo. CoCo soon finds herself addicted to the carnal pleasures Ralph delivers with amazing regularity.

These two Florida authors have demonstrated that we don't have to do anything more than step out the back door to find juicy subject matter for the a best-selling novel.
